Painful problem for Derwent

Double disappointment for Derwent percussionist at Pontins.

Derwent

Friday evening at Pontins in Prestatyn is not the place to be in pain, especially with a serious contest looming in the next 24 hours.

Broken wrist

However, Derwent Brass was left running around the holiday camp with a painful problem to solve and time running out after percussionist Sam Jowett had a innocuous fall and ended up in hospital with a badly broken wrist.

It was doubly disappointing for Sam, who had auditions scheduled over the coming weeks for the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Welsh College in Cardiff4BR

Double disappointment

It was doubly disappointing for Sam, who had auditions scheduled over the coming weeks for the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Welsh College in Cardiff.

Thankfully, Liam Halloran from Virtuosi GUS, who was helping out Sovereign Brass was signed up for emergency service and with the grateful thanks of the players of Derwent helped the band out on the Sunday.
