It was awards galore at the Horbury Victoria Brass Band’s Annual Combined Concert held before a full house at St Peters Church Horbury on the weekend.
Aspects
The concert showed off the many aspects of the organisation's different ensembles from learner and intermediate to youth and senior bands, saw a varied programme culminating with them all combining to finish the concert.
Musical Director Tom Greatorex presented the Stan Barstow trophy to Rowena Hargill and the Bill Audsley trophy to James Greatorex as the 'Most Progressive Youth Band Girl and Boy'.

More players
The MD stressed the need for more young players to come along and learn to play brass instruments.
Friends
Secretary Arnold Tattersfield thanked the audience for attending and informed them that in an effort to raise funds the band had started a 'Friends of Horbury Band Campaign' and asked that anyone interested should contact Linda Maynard or himself for details.
Presentations
Arnold then presented the 'Rumanian Trophy' to Carol Hargill for her work with the organisation and the 'Eileen Tattersfield Memorial Trophy' to David Lepley for his work with the Senior Band.
In return, members of the Senior Band presented Tom and Arnold with gifts for their work with the Bands.
