Walsh takes Brighouse euph seat

Following his performance at the British Open, Steven Walsh has been confirmed as the new prncipal euphonium at Brighouse & Rastrick.

Brighouse & Rastrick has announced the appointment of Steven Walsh as their new principal euphonium.

Experienced

Steven studied at Salford University, holds a Masters Degree in Musical Performance and is a peripatetic brass teacher at Rochdale music service.

The experienced performer, has played with Linthwaite, Leyland, Hepworth and YBS, period in which he came under the direction of David King.

Since leaving YBS at the end of 2006 Steve has performed with Fairy Band, Leyland and more recently Pemberton.

Steve impressed everyone at the British Open earlier this month, and I'm sure he will have a long and very successful career with usPaul Beaumont

Prize winner

In 2007 Steven was a prize winner at the European Solo Competition in Birmingham and since 2004 as been supported by Yamaha Europe.

Steve recently stepped in to help Brighouse at the British Open, and promptly walked away with the Stanley Wainwright Best Instrumentalist Award.

Brighouse President, Paul Beaumont told 4BR: "I'm thrilled to welcome Steve to the band and to reunite him with David King, the band’s professional conductor. Steve impressed everyone at the British Open earlier this month, and I'm sure he will have a long and very successful career with us."
