Following several difficult months the Timperley Band are well down the road to recovery thanks to a lot of hard work and effort from all its members.
Delighted
At a recent rehearsal Chairman, Gary Winson, was delighted to report significant progress had been made on a number of key fronts to remodel the band.
The rebuilding effort has been very successful to the extent that only a few seats are now available.
Key step
One key step in the right direction was the appointment of Andrew White, in June, as the band’s new Musical Director.
Gary explained to 4BR: "Andrew’s appointment has been crucial in taking the band forward. His considerable experience and knowledge will ensure Timperley continue to improve and challenge again.
"Andrew certainly knows how to generate enthusiasm and instil discipline to ensure high playing standards."
Gary concluded: "Andrew is very well qualified as a musician, also his ‘day job’ as Music Advisor to Blackpool Education Authority can only add a new dimension and greater strength to the band."

Building blocks
Meanwhile, Andrew commented: "I'm delighted to be working with Timperley. All the building blocks are here to create a fantastic band. We just need to complete the playing line up and keep pushing forward on all fronts. We have a number of exciting projects in the pipeline and I am sure contest success will not be that far away."
Fastest rising
It was in 2005 that Timperley reformed with the aim to create a Championship Section band.
This was achieved by 2006 along the way becoming the fastest rising band in the 4BR/World of Brass. In 2007/08 the band became NWCBBA Championship Section Band of the Year.
It now seems that Timperley are now well down the road to recovery following a difficult few months.
