The 10th Exmouth Brass Band Festival, promoted by the South West Brass Band Association, was held on Saturday 5th September at the Exmouth Pavilion, with a full house enjoying a feast of music presented by 12 bands from Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Staffordshire.
Impressed
Adjudicating the Entertainment Contest, David Barringer congratulated all the bands and their musical directors for the high standard and enthusiastic playing, together with well thought out programmes of music. He was particularly impressed with the un-graded bands who created amongst themselves a separate contest.

Good weather
Considering the atrocious weather experienced over the couple of months prior to the Festival, the weather improved for the full programme of fringe Concerts to go ahead in the Pavilion Gardens where the 12 bands played to a large and appreciative audience.
The awards were presented by Councillor Mrs Sandy Sutton, the Deputy Mayor of Exmouth.
