Leigh Baker has composed a new march for the Melton Band.

Pork pie

Melton was Leigh's first band, as a sprightly 11 year old, and the march, 'The Meltonian' was commisioned by the Melton Town Estate to mark the 100th anniversary of the town's bandstand.

Premiere

The march contains musical references to hunting, horse racing and of course the famous Melton Mowbray Pork Pie, and the world premiere was heard at the bandstand earlier this month, with Leigh as guest euphonium.
