Perth will come alive to the sound of brass in November with a three day musical extravaganza which will see 58 bands competing in the Scottish Open and Scottish Youth Championship.
The event, in Perth Concert Hall, runs from 27th to 29th November.
Scottish Open
The Scottish Open on 28th November is again supported by Besson Musical Instruments and will be adjudicated by Philip Harper and Frank Renton.
The Scottish Brass Band Association has announced that the North American Brass Band Champions, Fountain City Brass will be taking part in what is hoped to be a strong line up of bands.

Gala Concert
The musical weekend begins on Friday 27th November with the Brass & Voices Gala Concert with the Fountain City Brass and the Fair City Singers presented by Alasdair Hutton.
Scottish Challenge Cup
On Saturday the Scottish Challenge Cup contest begins at 9.00am when 8 bands from 4th and 3rd Sections will perform Own Choice test pieces for adjudicators Ian Porthouse and Andrew Duncan.
Scottish Challenge Shield
This will be followed by the Scottish Challenge Shield Contest for 2nd and 1st Section bands who will again perform their own choice test piece, adjudicated by Stan Lippeatt and Peter Roberts.
Following at 2.30 pm will be the Scottish Open.
Scottish Youth Championships
Sunday 29th November will see the Scottish Youth Band Championships kicks off at 9.30 am.
This event has grown over the past two years and expects an entry of around 28 bands this year.
This event is in 4 sections: Novice, Development, Senior and Premier and the adjudicators will be Frank Renton, Philip Harper, Peter Roberts, Stan Lippeatt, Ian Porthouse and Andrew Duncan.
The closing date for entries is 1st October.
