Looking forward
Allison told 4BR: "A chance meeting with a member of the association earlier this year revealed they were in need of a better publicity machine and hopefully I can do that for them.
"Although my instrument of choice is the violin I have always loved brass bands and look forward to attending the many events they hold throughout the year."
Allison was also a member of the Glasgow Phoenix Choir for some years.
Significant
SBBA President George Burt added: "The appointment of Allison is one of the most significant initiatives we have undertaken.
"With the renaissance of brass bands in Scotland, especially youth bands, we will now be enabled to publicise the huge benefits of brass bands to society."
