There are temporary changes at Hopkins Solicitors Blidworth Welfare Band.

Sabbatical

Conductor Kevin Steward is taking a sabbatical and is off to teach in Singapore for a few months.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The band would like to take this opportunity to thank Kevin for all he has done over the past 18 months. He has worked very hard with us and we wish him the best of luck in his new job."

Conducting duo

While he is away the band have engaged the skills of Huw Thomas who has agreed to conduct until the 16th August, when Martin Heartfield will take over right through to the Midlands Area 2010.

The band also welcome Richard and Kay Gallimore on trombone and horn and Dominic White and Emily Buxton on cornet.
