British Bandsman magazine is to enter into a partnership with the Brass in Concert Championship, which will see the event branded in future as the 'Brass in Concert Championship in association with British Bandsman'.

BB’s Editor, Kenneth Crookston, told 4BR: "We are delighted to enter into a formal association with the world’s premier brass band entertainment contest.
"This formal association will allow British Bandsman to enjoy higher prominence at the event and, as well as running special features in the magazine and on our website surrounding the weekend, we will also run a competition in which our readers can win tickets for both the contest and gala concert."

Enhancement
Commenting on behalf of Brass in Concert, event organiser, Paul Beere, added: "We are delighted to be able to include British Bandsman as a major partner in helping to move the Brass in Concert event on to even greater achievements in the future. We endeavour to strive for continual enhancement of the world’s leading brass band entertainment event."
Defending champion
This year’s event will see the defending champion, Cory, in addition to Black Dyke and Fountain City Brass, take part in the World of Brass in Concert on Saturday 14 November, with 12 leading bands competing in the Brass in Concert Championship the following day.

The Saturday will also see taster sessions, workshops and masterclasses and a performance by the Action Research Youth Entertainment Champion, Youth Brass 2000, in The Sage Gateshead.
