Buckhaven & Methil Miners to return to Durham Miners Gala — 25 years after their last show of solidarity.

Buckhaven & Methil Miners Band will be proudly participating in the Annual Durham Miners Gala, and will carry the banner for the Scottish NUM at the famous event.

2009 is the 25th anniversary of the Miners Strike, and the band has welcomed the opportunity to again pay homage to their mining heritage.

It was 25 years ago at the Scottish Miners Gala in Edinburgh that the band showed solidarity by proudly handing over its expenses cheque to the Miners Strike Fund. The area in Scotland where the band has its roots is steeped in mining history.

Events

As well as participating in the main march on the Saturday afternoon, the band is playing at various venues in the surrounding area over the weekend.
