Internationally renowned composer Trevor Wishart has included a brass band in his latest composition.

Dr Wishart is Composer in Residence at Durham University and is widely acknowledged for his contributions to composing with digital audio media.

Sonic art

Not only has he composed many significant pieces, but he has also written extensively on the topic of what he terms 'sonic art', and contributed to the design and implementation of many software tools used in the creation of digital music.

Belly Dance

The piece, called 'Belly Dance' is part of a larger suite and will be premiered next year.

Ray Farr directed the small band on this recording and commented to 4BR: "It’s contemporary art music and a lot of fun!".
