Centenary Square hosted performances from bands and ensembles that entertained people visiting the Birmingham city centre.
Thanks to a successful Brass Bands England grant application of £116,000 from Arts Council England, visitors to the Centenary Square area outside Symphony Hall were also able to enjoy brass band music making over the four days of the European Brass Band Championships Festival.
It was a wonderful initiative that proved to be extremely popular – with deck chairs on hand for those who wished to take the strain off their feet and sit back and relax as the music making came from bands and ensembles.
Steve Jack was on hand to take plenty of snaps of the bands in action...

4BR wants to ensure that the brass band movement remains vibrant and relevant. We also want to be able to question, challenge and critically examine those who run and play in it, producing high quality journalism that informs as well as entertains our readers.
So if like us you value a strong, independent perspective on the brass band world - then why not consider becoming a supporter and help make our future and that of a burgeoning brass band movement more secure.
So one less cappuccino then?
