The test piece was commissioned for the contest. A pre draw was made for order of play.

The Stanley Boddington Memorial Trophy was presented to the winning conductor, Garry Cutt.

David Read judged the 4BR Best Instrumentalist Prize.
Eric Crees was the tie break judge.

The tie break rule only comes into place after the aggregate scores of the two lower placings are added together.

Therefore, Fodens score is made up as 1st plus 2nd = 3.
YBS had an aggregate score of 4th plus 1st = 5.
The same applies to all other bands with equal scores.

Stannington Brass Band

May 20 • A rare opportunity has arisen to join one of Sheffield's leading bands with a vacancy for an EEb TUBA PLAYER to complete our bass section. We have a good band room atmosphere and a calendar of interesting concerts and contests.

May 19 • We have a vacancy for a 2nd Baritone player. The band currently competes in the Championship section and have a balanced concert and contest programme. Rehearsal nights are Mondays and Thursdays.
