Dream launch for Greenalls and Valley Brass

The latest major public work of art in the UK will be launched with a bit of help from a couple of brass bands.

'Dream', the dramatic 20 metre high new sculpture, by world-famous artist Jaume Plensa, and star of Channel 4's 'Big Art' programme will be launched with a spectacular public event on Sunday 31 May at Jubits Lane, Sutton Manor.

The launch event starts at noon, where the assembled pageant will process to the summit of the hill to officially launch 'Dream' at 1.00pm.

Brass band entourage

The launch will include a traditional Whit Walk complete with Greenalls and Valley Brass bands, the May Queen and her entourage, a choir, ex-miners and their families and all those who have made 'Dream' possible including guest of honour artist Jaume Plensa.
