On Tuesday, 28th April, in the Musicians' Chapel at St. Sepulchre's Church, Holborn, London, the memory of the late James Langley, composer, conductor and former producer of the BBC's 'Listen to the Band' and 'Bandstand' programmes, will be honoured during the 6.00pm Evensong Service, when his name will be inscribed in The Musicians' Book of Remembrance.

Born in 1927, James Langley, who worked for the BBC in Birmingham and Manchester from 1958 until his retirement in 1987, produced a great number of brass band broadcasts and was once guest conductor on a National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain course.
He was also a former French horn player and a prolific composer with many works for brass groups to his credit, and was well known as the long-serving conductor of the Midland Youth Orchestra.
