Boarshurst
 

The Boarshurst Silver Band (Greenfield) has announced that the 5th Annual Lordsmere Cup will take place on Saturday 23rd May at the Boarshurst Band Club, Greenbridge Lane, Greenfield, Saddleworth.

Quick March & Hymn

The Lordsmere Cup is a Quick March and Hymn tune Competition, which consists of a short street march, for the deportment prize, a Hymn tune followed by a Contest Quick March to be played on the stand in a similar style to the Whit Friday Contests which occurs 2 weeks later.

3 Sections

Section A: Nationally Graded Championship & 1st Section Bands.
Section B: Nationally Graded 2nd & 3rd Section Bands.
Section C: Nationally Graded 4th and Youth Section Bands.

Prizes:

All three Sections will have the following prizes;
1. £200.00 plus Trophy.
2. £100.00 plus Trophy.
3. £50.00 plus Trophy.

Hymn Tune Prize £50.00 plus the David Hurst Memorial Trophy.
Best Youth Band not in prizes.
Plus Additional prizes for Deportment, Best Cornet, Trombone Section & Bass section.

The contest will be pre – drawn and all entrants will be given their approximate time of starting.

The draw will take place on Wednesday 20th May after which all bands will be informed.
