Lottery Award for Hepworth

The good news continues for Hepworth (Cookson Homes) as they pick up a cheque for ten grand from the Lottery.

Following Hepworth (Cookson Homes) band’s recent success at the Yorkshire Regional Championship, it has been announced that it they have also been successful in obtaining a grant from The National Lottery’s 'Awards For All' Scheme.

Maximum award

The band has been awarded the maximum of £10,000, which will be used to help stage and promote a series of concerts, to purchase percussion equipment and to contribute to the bands professional development.

Baritone player Carole Crompton, has been working with the band’s committee to identify opportunities for funding to support a range of projects.

Band Manager, Steve Hopwood told 4BR: "The grant from 'Awards for All' will enable us to stage and promote a series of seasonal concerts at venues across the district. It will also help to support the band with the purchase of percussion equipment that at present we have to hire in for concerts and contests."

He added: "The band would like to thank Carole for her advice and guidance in helping to secure Awards for All funding."
