Dodworth MW Band, may have had a lot contesting wise on their hands on the weekend in Bradford, but at least they were pleased with one result — the award of a £10,000 grant from the Coal Board Regeneration Trust.

Bob Woffinden told 4BR: "The award will help the band replace a number of instruments that have seen better days, and will also enable the band to produce its first CD."

The band has also been busy raising extra money too, with 9 year old Christopher Woffinden completing a sponsored swim which raised a fantastic £250.
