Students out...

Unfortunately the University of Warwick Band has had to pull out of the Midlands Area.

Warwick

The University of Warwick Brass Band has announced that they will not be attending the Midlands Regional Contest this year.

Hoped to build

The band enjoyed an exceptional 2008, being placed 3rd at the regional contest, and a very respectable 5th at the National Finals in Harrogate. The band had hoped to build on that success in 2009, with a good chance of being promoted back to the Second Section after five years in the Third.

...with the contest date falling outside of term time for the University, and a large number of players away, the band have decided it will not be possible to compete this yearMatthew Brunttold

Date

Marketing Manager Matthew Brunttold 4BR: "However, with the contest date falling outside of term time for the University, and a large number of players away, the band have decided it will not be possible to compete this year."

Best of luck

He added: "The University of Warwick Brass Band would like to wish all the competing bands the best of luck at Bedworth, and are committed to returning to the Midlands Regional Contest in 2010."
