Seaman to lead Easter Course

Pembs Brass Fest is to run its inaugural course at Easter under the baton of Nigel Seaman.

'Pembs Brass Fest', a brass band residential course, will be held at the Stackpole Centre, in Pembrokeshire from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th April 2009.

Vast range

Brass and percussion players of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend the course, where they will experience a vast range of music, entertainment and fun, culminating in a public concert which will feature a guest soloist.

Lead

This year, the band will be led by Nigel Seaman, Principal Tuba with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and Musical Director of the Desford Colliery Band.

Nigel is an experienced brass player, adjudicator, teacher and conductor, and will bring with him a wealth of knowledge to pass onto the participants.

Spokesperson, Gareth Ritter told 4BR: "We are extremely excited that percussion soloist Dave Danford has been engaged as guest soloist for the course, performing some new works."

Dave will also lead master classes and discussions throughout the weekend.

Coordinated

The course will be co-ordinated by a young and enthusiastic group of brass players with a wealth of experience of top level banding, namely Robin Hackett, Gareth Ritter, Matthew Jenkins and Simon Howell, and will include expert tuition, full board accommodation, master classes, evening entertainment, and an opportunity to perform in a public concert with new friends.
