Dr Stephen Cobb, conductor of the International Staff Band of the Salvation Army, is to visit the Heyl Band in Cornwall to help them prepare for the forthcoming Regional Championships in Torquay.
Ups and downs
The band has experienced a lot of lot of ups and downs recently, but this year they feel they are on a real up after having signed several new players.
Inspire
Derek Johnston told 4BR: "It was decided to ask Dr Cobb to help in the ground work for the contest, and he did not hesitate. Even though he is recording with the band on the Saturday, he will jump on the train and travel down to Cornwall to hopefully inspire the band to produce a great performance at Torquay."
