The Foden’s Band annual Patrons Concert was held last week at the local Sandbach School.

Filled to capacity

The hall was filled to capacity with extra seats having to be found to accommodate all the bands 600 patrons who attended, and they were treated to an entertaining programme of music taken mainly from the band’s new CD which was launched on the night.

Both the concert and the CD were directed by conductor Mike Fowles who has become a favourite with the audience at Sandbach.

Patrons Choice II

'Patron’s Choice II' (which will soon be available on 4BR) includes popular tracks and is dedicated to the Band’s President and long time supporter Peter Fletcher.

Principal Cornet Mark Wilkinson thanked the various people involved with the production of the recording as well as thanking the patrons for their continued support.

Financial help

In recent months the financial help of Peter Fletcher has enabled Foden’s Band to purchase new stand banners, blazer badges and a new design of tie for band members and supporters emblazoned with their most famous identity.

Mark Wilkinson presented Peter with a framed and signed CD by the band, as well as a new tie.

Awards

The Patrons Concert is Foden’s Bands opportunity to make their annual awards, both of which are voted for by the members themselves.

Mike Fowles was delighted to announce 2nd cornet player Andy Rolfe as 'Bandsman of the Year' and that the unanimous vote for 'Player of the Year' went to euphonium star Glyn Williams.
