NABBC Young Conductors Competition

Calling all young conductors — there is £1000 up for grabs for the best baton man or woman around.

The National Association of Brass Conductors has announced details of its forthcoming competition for conductors.

Association

As was the case last year, the competition is presented in association with Virtuosi Instruments, and the Virtuosi GUS Band will there to assist competitors is their quest for the title.

Competition details

The competition will take place in the Chrysalis Theatre at Camphill, Milton Keynes, on Saturday, 20th June. The winner will receive a cheque for £1,000, and competitors placed 2nd and 3rd will receive £500 and £250 respectively.

Winning opportunity

The winner will also be given an opportunity to appear in one of the band’s forthcoming concerts.

Competitors must be 35 years of age or under on 31st December, 2009.

Aplications

Application must be made on an official Application Form, available from the NABBC Secretary, Mr Ted Howard, 30 Havant Road, Horndean, Waterlooville, Hampshire PO8 0DT, who will also supply a copy of the rules.
