Wired for sound

Bactiguard Wire Brass are set to host a pre regional contest preview on Friday — four of the five pieces will be aired, so get along and enjoy the warm up.

Wire Brass

Bactiguard Wire Brass are hosting a regional contest preview evening on Friday 20th February at Great Sankey High School Theatre, Barrowhall Lane, Gt Sankey in Warrington.

Competing bands

The concert begins at 7.30pm and will feature this year’s test pieces performed by bands competing in the North West area championships in Blackpool on the 1st March.

Unfortunatley there is no performance of the First Section work, 'Pentacle' by Graham Cole.

Judge

Richard Evans will be adjudicating throughout the evening and providing an essential critique of each performance, that each band will no doubt find invaluable in their preparation for the contest.

Starting off

Cheshire Constabulary will start the night off performing 'The Talisman' by Frank Hughes, whilst Greenalls will be playing 'The Once & Future King' by Andrew Baker.

They will be followed by United Co-Op 2000 Brass and 'New World Sketches' by Daniel Price, whilst Bactiguard Wire Brass will be playing 'Salute to Youth' by Gilbert Vinter.

Free Night

So if you want to experience an evening of varied, but serious, brass band music or you just want to hear how your competition is shaping up, please come along.

The concert is free, however there are only 200 seats available on a first come first served basis.
