Wetherby Silver and their MD Garry Hallas are looking forward not back after their encouraging outing at Preston.

Hallas

Wetherby Silver Band and their new MD, Garry Hallas have told 4BR of their delight with their result from last week's Preston Guild Hall contest, after they came 5th out of 16 bands there on the day.

Impressed

Garry told 4BR: "Having taken up the baton alongside my other commitments I have been very impressed by the concentration and commitment around the stand. Taking 'The Once and Future King' to Preston was seen as a stepping stone and a useful contesting experience, as the band haven't been on a test piece stage since last years areas."

It's a very positive start to the year, and we are now looking forward to 2009 with extra enthusiasmMD, Garry Hallas

Tidy

Garry added: "I felt we gave a tidy performance and we were delighted with 5th place. It's a very positive start to the year, and we are now looking forward to 2009 with extra enthusiasm!"

Wetherby has announced that David Ashworth has agreed to come across and take the band at the Yorkshire Area Finals, due to clash of commintments Garry has.
