There are still tickets available for this weekend's Festival of Brass in Manchester, but if you want to attend, you need to buy quickly.
Few left for Dyke
The Box Office at the RNCM in Manchester where the Festival takes place this weekend has told 4BR on Friday morning, that there are just a few seats left for Black Dyke's concert this evening.
Tickets are still available for all concerts, but it's a case of purchase them quickly, if you don't want to miss out' 4BR
Good attendances
In addition to Friday evening's concert, available tickets for both Saturday and Sunday evening's concerts are still on sale but you'll need to be quick. On Saturday evening, The British Open Champion Band, Foden's will be directed by Bramwell Tovey and Garry Cutt in a programme that will include the World Premiere of Peter Meechan's Trumpet Concerto written for Rex Richardson entitled Apophenia. Twenty four hours later, Brighouse and Rastrick Band conducted by Alan Morrison will bring the curtain down on the weekend with a programme that features Philip Wilby's The New Jerusalem.
RNCM and Leyland
Tickets for the RNCM Brass Ensemble and Brass Band and Leyland on Saturday along with Concerts from Fairey and Desford are still available. The RNCM Brass Band and Ensemble are to showcase Gregson's Connotations and John McCabe's Desert II — Horizon in their offering.
Katrina's UK Premiere
The eye-catching highlight of Leyland's programme on Saturday afternoon is the UK Premiere of Martin Ellerby's Baritone Concerto, performed by the distinguished, Katrina Marzella.
Fairey's Salute
On Sunday morning, The Fairey Band will be in action and the audience will get to here the Championship Section Regional Test for 2009, Salute to Youth as part of their programme. Desford from the Midlands will be in the Haden Freeman Concert Hall on Sunday afternoon where amongst their contributions is a reprise of the Butlins Championship Section test piece, Harrison's Dream.
Masterclasses
In addition to the concerts, their are masterclassess from David Thornton, Richard Marshall and Rex Richardson along with an appreciation of the music of Gilbert Vinter and a chance to learn more about composers Philip Wilby and John McCabe.
