There is great excitement building among the 32 members of the Victorian State Youth Brass Band as preparations are underway for their forthcoming 2009 Camp.
The sounds of Brass will be filling the air at the famed Bright Chalet in Bright over the week beginning Sunday 11th January as the Victorian State Youth Brass band settles in for a week of rehearsals, tutorials and workshops under the musical direction of Wally Pope assisted by Jenny Wagstaff and tutors Jen Magoulas and Rhys McKee.
Greg Spence
The band is also fortunate to have the services of Yamaha Artist and famed trumpeter Greg Spence as guest conductor. Greg will also be taking tutorials over the week.
Greg Spence is well known in the Australian commercial music scene and is currently the trumpet player on Australia's No.1 rating show, the international smash hit, Dancing With The Stars, and John Foreman’s new music show, The Big Night In. His versatility in commercial, jazz, Latin American, funk and classical playing has made him an in demand session trumpeter with a long list of credits.
The band would like to acknowledge the sponsorship from Yamaha
Australia for making this possible.
