The current European and Brass in Concert Champions, Cory have revealed through their website that they are to compete at the World Music Congress Contest in Kerkrade later this year.

Invitation

The band has accepted an invitation to compete from the organisers at the contest which will take place over the 11th and 12th of July.

Format

The format of the contest will see the Welsh band perform in the set work, own-choice and entertainment sections, the aggregate scores from which decide the destination of the World title.

The current World Champions are Treize Etoiles from Switzerland, who won the title in 2005. The test piece for the 2009 event is Peter Graham’s ‘Harrison’s Dream’.
