The Band of West Mercia Constabulary conducted by Steve Pritchard-Jones has been as busy as ever raising funds for good causes throughout their force area and further afield.
Sell out concerts
During the past couple of weeks the band has performed at four sell out concerts. A combined concert with the Valentines Ladies Choir at Kidderminster Town Hall raised over £1,500 to contribute towards rebuilding a school in Gambia.

Funds
Concerts at Inberrow and Worcester raised funds for Christian charities and the West Mercia Constabulary Victims of Crime fund benefited when the Police band joined forces with the Worcestershire Schools Intermediate Brass Band for the annual West Mercia Christmas Carol Concert at Police headquarters.
Joining forces with the Worcestershire Intermediate band is the first in a series of joint ventures with the Constabulary Band and the Worcestershire County Music Service.
Looking forward
A band spokesperson told 4BR: "The band is looking forward to 2009 with several new signings, new band room and numerous major concerts including Worcester Cathedral and the new Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury. Following the successful West Mercia Music Festival for non contesting bands in February 2008 another festival is intended for July 2009."
