High profile for Redbridge

London champs have enjoyed displaying their wares in 2008 — from a spot with Reeves & Mortimer to a lock up trip to Dubai.

The London & Southern Counties champions, Redbridge Brass have been reflecting on one of its busiest and most exciting years to date.

A Band spokesperson told 4BR: "During 2008 the band enjoyed a number of high-profile engagements including a trip to Dubai to play at Group 4 Securicor’s annual conference, and performances at Brixton Academy and the Glastonbury Festival with electro-pop band Hot Chip."

On the contesting scene, the band retained its title as L&SC Area Champions and went on to achieve its best ever result at the Masters under the baton of their new MD, Jeremy Wise4BR

Reeves & Mortimer

They added: "The band also appeared at the Olympic Torch relay in London, recorded a concert for BBC Radio 2’s 'Friday Night is Music Night' and featured on 'The One Show' on BBC1, alongside comedians Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer."

Best ever result

On the contesting scene, the band retained its title as L&SC Area Champions and went on to achieve its best ever result at the Masters under the baton of their new MD, Jeremy Wise.

The band has announced that soprano player Martin Britt will be joining the ranks in January 2009, in time for the Butlins contest.
