As recently reported on 4BR, Camborne Band took part in a head-to-head public phone vote on Tuesday in a bid to gain lottery funding to refurbish their 80 year old timber bandroom.
The project was featured on ITV West Country regional news that evening as one of the finalists of 'The People's Millions 2008'.
Winners
After Tuesday's votes, the Camborne Town Band Bandroom Project was declared the winner and offered the lottery grant of £58,472!
Marcus Dunstan, the Society Chairman, told 4BR: "We would like to sincerely thank everyone who voted for us. We are greatly indebted to you all! You can be assured that the money will be put to a very worth cause. Special thanks must go to Bob Seymour who ran the project for the society."
