Raise profile

Carole Crompton commented to 4BR: "Bolsover District Council is pleased to make this most recent announcement as we pledge to raise the profile of brass bands within our district. Brass bands have long been part of our heritage which we are committed to raising the profile of and preserving their heritage."

Proud

Carole added: "We are especially proud of the work and commitment of Wilson Bowden Developments (WBD). Without their support, the Bolsover Brass Band Entertainment Contest would not have been able to expand. The Management of WBD were so impressed with the 2008 contest that they have committed to support the 2009 contest."

The series will begin with Derwent Brass at the Post Mill Centre, South Normanton on Saturday 14th February.
