Undisputed number 1

Bob Childs talks to 4BR about the recent Brass in Concert win, being the number 1 band in the world and the plans for the Cory future.

Childs

Dr Bob Childs has been taking time out after leading Cory to their first Brass in Concert victory to tell 4BR how they went about it and what they have planned now they have completed the ‘Grand Slam’ of major contesting titles.

Not content

Not content with being ranked the number 1 band in the world, the leading money winners for the 2008 season, and holders of the two titles that have eluded the band for nearly 30 years, he also revealed something about the plans for Cory to celebrate their 125th anniversary next year – including possible trips to the USA and even Japan.

Cup of tea

4BR met up with the father and son team for a cup of tea and a chat at David’s home near Newport, where the pair have been spending any spare time building a double garage.

It will come in handy for the growing collection of cups and awards then…
