Open invite at Aveley & Newham

Fancy having a go playing some top test pieces with one of the best bands in London — then get along to Aveley & Newham.

The Aveley & Newham band has given an open invitation to invite players to an open rehearsal at Aveley Band Hall on Thursday 27th November.

The rehearsal is open to anyone who wishes to come along and have a blow with one of London’s top brass bands.

Variety of pieces

Musical Director, Nigel Taken will be rehearsing a variety of pieces including test pieces, concert items and entertaining arrangements as well as giving players a chance to get to know some of 2009’s test pieces including the Championship Section regional’s piece and the Grand Shield test piece.

Contest Music

'Contest Music', 'Salute to Youth', 'Harrisons Dream', 'Copacabana', 'Dance of the Tumblers', 'Dance Fever' 'We’ve only just begun', 'Russlan & Ludmilla' and 'The Light Fantastic' will all be looked at in some deatil.
