The Scottish Co-op Band has announced the return of Gillian Forsyth to their baritone section after an absence of some years.
Last performance
Gillian's last performance with the band was in 2000 and her return at this time is a boost to the band prior to its participation in the Scottish Open Championships in Perth later this month.
Gillian, who joined the band while still at school, told 4BR: "I have the dubious honour of being the longest-serving female member of the band."
I am absolutely delighted to be back for the forthcoming Scottish OpenGillian Forsyth
Good fortune
She continued though: "I had the good fortune to have played with the band when it became the first Scottish band to win the National Championship of Great Britain in 1990 and again in 1996, and I was able to participate in its tour of Australia and New Zealand. I am absolutely delighted to be back for the forthcoming Scottish Open."
Partnership renewed
Gillian's return means that she is once again teamed up with Lorraine Bisson who formed the other part of the National Championship winning baritone section.
