Stape Silver Band (Pickering) has returned to winning form recently, following recent successes in two entertainment contests.
Venture
The band recently ventured into Derbyshire for the first time to enter the Bolsover Entertainment Contest and came away with 1st place in the Third Section.
With the winning wind behind them they then went to the Malton Brass Entertainment Contest and won Class B for 3rd & 4th Section bands by 2 clear points.
More prizes
Not content with only one prize the band also won the prizes for Best March, Best March Basses and Best Basses Overall. The Best Euphonium Trophy went to 14 year old Beth Breckon and the band was also awarded the Best Ryedale Band Trophy as well. This was the 3rd year in succession that they have won first prize.

The filming involved 12 players for a day in Goathland Village Hall and another 7 players to attend the Studios on the outskirts of Leeds for some scenes in the Aidensfield Arms.
Many of the well known crew were involved in our scenes and the bandmaster for the episode was the well known actor Keith Baron.
This episode is due to be shown this coming Sunday November 16th at 8.00pm on ITV 1.
