The Clifton and Lightcliffe Band has reported to 4BR thenews of the death of Terry Nuttall on Tuesday 11th November.

Over 40 years service

Terry had been connected with the band for over 40 years. He was bass trombone player for many years before retiring from playing when he then became trustee and chairman.

Terry was a straight talking Yorkshireman who had a big heart and he will be greatly missed by all of us. Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad timeJayne Clay

Footsteps

Terry’s family has a long history with the band. Terry followed in the footsteps of his father Jim who originally played with Brighouse and Rastrick and later became the bandmaster of Clifton in the early 1970’s.

Terry came along and brought his son Michael who also played trombone, whilst Terry’s granddaughter Emma is currently with the band on horn.

Big heart

Secretary Jane Clay of the band told 4BR: "Terry was a straight talking Yorkshireman who had a big heart and he will be greatly missed by all of us. Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time."

The funeral will take place next week at Park Wood, Brighouse.
