On Sunday 16th November there will be three opportunities to hear two of the finest soloists that make up the legendary Black Dyke Band.
Dyke stars
Richard Marshall (principal cornet) and David Thornton (principal euphonium) will be performing with the Becontree Brass Band and the excellent Abbs Cross School Wind-band at the Barnardo’s Church in Barkingside, before they separate and travel to gala concerts organized by Haverhill Silver Band and Bedford Town Band.

Barnardo's Brass Appeal
All three bands are in agreement that supporting the Barnardo’s Brass Appeal has opened new opportunities. The appeal not only aims to raise funds for one of the largest children’s charities but also to create new opportunities for young players to reach their full potential.
Fund raising
Because the brass band community have an established reputation of fundraising for local and national charities, the opportunity to become a part of the Barnardo's Brass Appeal has generated much enthusiasm. This rare opportunity of working with the very best soloists has certainly motivated each band to make their concerts a success.
