Victory to Johnstone Silver at Scottish Borders Contest.

Johnstone Silver Band, conducted by Raymond Tennant, lifted the Scottish Borders Trophy for the second time at the Borders Entertainment Contest held in Jedburgh on the weekend.

Shotts St. Patrick’s Band came second, City of Discovery Band third and St. Ronan’s Silver Band in fourth, as the highest placed Borders Band.

The music adjudicators were John Roberts and Tony Swainson, whilst the entertainment judge, John Lamont, Roxburghshire MSP, gave the entertainment prize to Jedforest Instrumental Band.

Youth

In the Youth Section, Langholm Junior Band and Peebles Junior Band each received silver awards, while Abbey Brass (Jedforest) and St. Ronan’s Future Band both received gold awards. This section was adjudicated by James Chamberlain.
