The Black Dyke Band is still celebrating after notching up its 21st National title success at the Royal Albert Hall on the weekend.
Special performance
Dr Nicholas Childs, Director of Music, told 4BR: "It is a tremendous win. When the audience started to applaud and even erupt before the band finishes, you know we had created a special performance. We have had messages of congratulations from our supporters and fans from all over the world."

Full diary
The band celebrated long into the London night, although they haven't got much chance to have a break as they have a full diary of concerts and engagements right to the end of the year.
"We've enjoyed the moment, but the hard work continues. The players have been tremendous in their commitment, but we are so busy that we haven't got that much time to relax. Demand for Black Dyke is higher than ever."
Exceptional
Composer of the test piece, Dr Kenneth Downie, had earlier told 4BR: "I was deeply impressed by Black Dyke, an exceptional performance, so detailed and musical."
