Nantlle Vale Band in North Wales was formed in 1865. It was one of the first bands to have its own bandroom, in the former slate-quarrying village of Talysarn in Snowdonia.
The building is still in use today and has recently been renovated with the help of grants from the Welsh Assembly Government and the Landfill Communities Fund.
To celebrate the renovation the band is holding an open afternoon on Saturday 18th October from 2.30 until 5.00pm. The senior and junior bands will be playing, and there will be light refreshments.
