Hibernation over for Windcorp

Grenland champion Windcorp Brass starts an exciting season after a bit of a break.

After winning the Grenland International Brass Band Festival in April, the Windcorp Band has had a long break before the rehearsals started again last weekend.

Focus

The main focus of activity this Autumn will be the Swedish Brass Band Championships in November, where Windcorp Brass Band will defend their title.

Pre contest show

One week before the Swedish championships, Windcorp hosts a pre-contest concert where three Gothenburg based bands will present their individual contest programs.

Windcorp and Betlehemskyrkans Musikkår will compete in the Elite Section, while Smyrna Brass will compete in the First Division.

Resident conductor Andreas Kratz will take the band at the Swedish championships. The band report that the first weekend of rehearsals was a good start and both band and conductor feel confident with each otherWindcorp Band

Two Elite

The concert will features two performances of the elite set test piece 'Swedish Festival Music' and one performance of the first division set test piece 'St. Austell Suite', both by Kenneth Downie.

Chinnor Silver

June 17 • Our COMMUNITY BAND meet again on Monday (22nd) and we welcome players of all standards to join us for a relaxed,friendly rehearsal with Tea and cake and it’s all free.. Rehearsals are at 11am in our own bandroom playing with us does not effect your band.

June 15 • After a fantastic result at the Wetherby Drovers Contest, The Harrogate Band are looking for a front row and a back row cornet player to complete the team. Rehearsals Weds 8pm with occasional Sundays at our own bandroom with great transport links
