Two bands from over the musical and geographical divide are now building bridges together.
Working together
Cwmaman Institute Silver Band and Bristol Easton Band of the Salvation Army have come together to form a new working relationship. Both bands have recently been through a period of change and the new partnership holds promise for both organisations.
Strong association
Over recent years, Cwmaman has built a strong association with the Bristol Easton Band as a number of players have played with Cwmaman in contests up and down the country.
Meanwhile, Bristol Easton have a newly appointed Bandmaster in the talented Nathan Cole and under Nathan’s enthusiastic leadership they have a number of exciting engagements lined up over the next 18 months.

Fantastic opportunity
Secretary Steve Stonelake told 4BR: "This is a fantastic opportunity for Cwmaman to join a newly progressive band in England and build on strong friendships we’ve made over previous years. We really hope to capitalise on this relationship and make the most of it for both bands."
Fruitful
The friendship has already proved fruitful with Nathan taking some of Cwmaman’s rehearsals over the summer months whilst their conductor was away.
To mark the start of this relationship the bands are holding a massed band concert later this month, details of which can be found in the classified section of the 4BR site. The concert to be called 'Bridging the Gap', will be held at the Salvation Army hall in Bristol.
Renew friendships
Nathan Cole told 4BR: "We have a number of players who have played with Cwmaman and it will be good to renew these friendships. We’re also excited about our massed bands concert as it is the first time we have shared the stage with a Championship Section Band."
