European champions Cory are to open their doors to the public for a pre-contest performance of Kenneth Downie's 'Concertino for Brass Band'.

Massive work

MD Bob Childs told 4BR: "It's a massive work that requires delicacy, strength and stamina. The outer movements are so technically demanding and intricate whilst the slow beautiful second movement is lyrical and requires perfect balance and an intuitive sense of phrasing."

Cory's open rehearsal will take place on Thursday at Tonyrefail School, Gilfach Road, Porth. The rehearsal will begin at 7.30pm and entry is free of charge.
