Results: Ammanford Contest

Burry Port take the top honours at Ammanford with section victories for Markham, Blaenavon, City of Cardiff and Goodwick Brass.

Burry Port
 

The annual West Wales Brass Band Association Festival Contest took place at Ammanford on the weekend.

A total of 30 bands entered the five sections with Burry Port conducted by Craig Roberts performing 'Between the Moon and Mexico' to take the top section title.

Endevour

The First Section saw victory go to Markham & District conducted by Adrian Morton playing 'Endeavour', whilst recent Harogate finalists Blaenavon Town under Lyndon Price took the top prize in the Second.

Capped

City of Cardiff capped a fine couple of weeks under Gareth Ritter by adding the Third Section title, whilst Goodwick Brass took the top spot in the Fourth under debutant Robin Hackett.

The adjudicators for the contest were Lloyd Landry, Championship and 2nd Section; Lyn Morgan 1st and 3rd Section and Tom Davoren adjudicated the 4th Section.
