Childs play in London?

The famous Childs family will be out in force at the Royal Albert Hall this year — in a four way battle for glory.

One of the most famous brass band families will not only be enjoying a great get together at the Royal Albert Hall on the weekend, but will also be battle against each other too!

Battle

Young Vicki Kennedy, a student at Campsmount Technology College and a member of the famous Childs clan will be playing with Rothwell Temperance. She is not only looking forward to the experience, but she is also going to battle it out with her banding family on three other fronts too.

Nine lives

On the day nine other family members, will be competing.

Dad, Stewart, will be playing solo cornet with the EYMS Band, with cousins Thomas (2nd cornet)and Andrew (2nd euphonium)

Meanwhile, cousin David and his wife Joanne, will be playing next to other cousin Lisa with European champions Cory, conducted by her uncle Bob.

Finally, uncle Nick and aunty Alison will be leading the challenge with Black Dyke.

Oh — and don't forget mum and Gran in support too!

West Wycombe Brass Band

January 10 • West Wycombe Brass Band are looking for Cornets and Horns (negotiable) and a Flugelhorn player. All ages and standards are very welcome. Friendly Band in Buckinghamshire Village. Instruments provided if required. Own Bandroom.


Harlow Brass Band

January 10 • We are a friendly and welcoming band who hold our own Spring and Christmas concerts. We also play at various local events throughout the year. We have vacancies for BACK ROW CORNETS, TROMBONES and PERCUSSION.


Epping Forest Band

January 10 • We are a friendly 3rd section band that have a vacancy for a solo horn to complete our line up. We perform in a variety of gigs and contests throughout the year. Our band hut is located close to Epping tube station and easy access for the M11.
