Success for Cornish Symphony

Cornish Symphonic Brass Brass report a debut concert to remember, despite the odd break...

The newly formed Cornwall Symphonic Brass recently gave their first concert at Truro Methodist Church.

It seemed to be a great success if audience response is anything to go by, with one delighted listener describing it as 'full of lively and interesting pieces’.

Excellent

Musical Director, Graham Boag told 4BR: "I was very pleased and I would like to thank all the players for their time over the past couple of months. Thanks also to Philip Hunt and Philip Davey for making the concert a success. Looking to the future I think the ensemble will quickly have an excellent reputation for its music making and entertainment."

Elbow hitch

Despite the excellent concert, preparations did not go without a hitch. One of the trumpet players fell and broke one wrist and smashed the opposite elbow before the concert. Luckily, a replacement was found in time.
