Internationally famous orchestral conductor Sir Simon Rattle is to receive his freedom to the City of Liverpool next week.

Maestro

The frizzled haired maestro will be presented with the honour at the famous Lioverpool Anglican Church, where music for the ocassion will be provided by local young musicians.

Mahler

Louise Hough and Phil Lawrence have also worked together to provide their own arrangements of some Mahler (Sir Simon's favourite composer by all accounts)for the occassion, and so the music to be played by Louise's youth band will be the Adgietto/Choral from the 6th movement of Mahler's 3rd Symphony.
