Leigh Baker has been commissioned by the Desford Band to compose a "finisher" for their National Finals Gala Concert at Regent Hall in London.

Leigh has turned to Bosworth Field-an ancient battle field only a few miles from the Desford Band room-for inspiration.

"On Bosworth Field" is inspired by the battle which ended the War of the Roses and saw Richard III killed.

Quotes

This is depicted in Shakespeare's Richard III and the score contains quotes from the play.

Opening with muted brass and off stage solos ,8 Fanfare trumpets (of trumpet and trombone pitch) and tenor drums are also featured in a colourful and descriptive work.

The piece will recieve it's world premiere on Saturday the 18th October at Regent Hall, London.
